A young father from Truro died in a motorcycle crash on the Orkney Islands in Scotland.
Jon Csehi came off his motorcycle on the A961 between the islands of Holm and Land's Holm on the remote islands.
The 29-year-old ex-marine was in the Orkney Islands working on a renewable energy project.
Mr Csehi, who had rowed across the Atlantic, has left behind a wife and a baby daughter.
Duty Sergeant David Hall from Kirkwall Police Station said: "It's a tragic accident and our thoughts are with the family at this time."
No other vehicles were involved in the crash which was reported to police at 7.20pm on Saturday.
In 2008 Mr Csehi completed a trans-Atlantic rowing challenge. Rowing with Nick Histon the pair came second in the Atlantic Rowing Race Challenge. Mr Csehi's employers, Falmouth-based Mojo Maritime, described him as "a devoted husband and father who surrounded himself with his family". The company had been in touch with his wife, Kim who said: "Tell the world what an amazing man he was and what an amazing husband and father he has been." Mr Csehi grew up in Par, and went to Fowey School. He was said to be extremely gifted both academically and on the race track and rugby field. He later attended Truro College and subsequently joined Royal Marine 42 Commando, where he was awarded many commendations, performing several deployments representing his country including serving in Afghanistan. His childhood friend and colleague at Mojo Maritime Simon Hindley, said: "Jon was a true friend, mischievous, great fun, kind and with a keen eye for adventure. He will be missed." On leaving the Marines Mr Csehi undertook a degree in BSC Renewable Energy at Exeter University, which he passed with honours. During this period he undertook work placements with wave energy developer Orecon and subsequently with marine energy specialists Mojo Maritime Ltd where he established himself as a key member of the team. Richard Parkinson, Mojo Maritime's Managing Director said: "The entire Mojo team are absolutely devastated at losing one of our brightest stars."He excelled in everything he was tasked with and rapidly progressed to project manager."He was incredibly talented and we had huge plans for his future." At the time of his accident Mr Csehi was project manager for the installation of the Voith Hydro tidal turbine at the European Marine Energy Centre - his company said it was a role in which he earned great respect and admiration from all involved. Mr Parkinson said: "Jon was a truly amazing person and will be deeply missed by all around him."
