A PENSIONER is set to throw herself out of a plane with her two daughters in a bid to raise cash for charities close to their hearts.

After Faye Wilson revealed to her mum Viv Thompson, 68, and sister Giselle, known as Zell, that she planned to take part in a tandem skydive, they both jumped at the chance to join in.

Now the threesome are busily raising money for the Miscarriage Association (MA) and Prostate Cancer UK while nervously waiting for the jump day.

"I don't know what came over me," said 37 year old Faye.

"I am awful with heights but I just keep telling myself that I will be strapped to someone who does this all day every day."

Faye's first soiree into fundraising was far more sedate, holding a tea party last year. She raised £600 for MA after suffering four miscarriages herself.

"It was such a horrible time and it really affected me and my family," she said, adding that she suffered the miscarriages while trying for a third child.

Undergoing tests, doctors could not find any health reasons for the miscarriages. Finally, after losing four children, Faye successfully gave birth to her son Stan, now one year old. She has two other children, Fin, aged 10, and seven year old Ike.

"People don't talk about it but more should be aware of miscarriages and shouldn't be ashamed if they happen," she said.

The other charity benefiting from the family skydive is Prostate Cancer UK after the sibling's father Chris was diagnosed with the condition.

"He has had it for eight years now but is fit and healthy and will be 70 this year," she said.

The daring threesome will take on their sky high challenge on Friday May 3, launching themselves out of a plane at Perranporth.

So far they have raised almost £2,000 for their chosen charities.

Adding that she would hold an event for MA annually, Faye admitted the next will be firmly on the ground.

"I am petrified of most things and have never done anything like this before," she said.

"Me and mum are quite alarmed at how OK we feel about it. Zell keeps doing a panicky face but on the day I know she will be fine and we will be beside ourselves."
