Time is running out to contribute to a book on a former Grand Bard of Cornwall.
Richard Garfield Jenkin (1925-2002) became a well-known resident of Leedstown after 1959.
Locally, he was on Crowan Parish Council and Leedstown Village Hall committee for many years, and his four children all attended Leedstown School.
After he retired from teaching at Helston School in 1981, his knowledge of Cornwall, its history, language and heritage became available to many researchers and he often gave talks to local organisations.
However, his work for Cornwall was not just local, and he was involved in and led the Celtic Congress, Gorsedh Kernow, the Federation of Old Cornwall Societies, Mebyon Kernow, the Cornish Language Board and many other Cornish organisations.
His work and writings were pivotal in the development of the modern view of Cornwall.
A book on his life will be launched on October 25 at Leedstown Village Hall.
