Picturesque woodland near Porthleven has been shortlisted as one of the top 25 places to eat lunch in the UK. Penrose Walk in Loe Bar was chosen out of 10,000 sites by Kingsmill in partnership with national tourist boards such as Visit England in its search for the UK's top ten lunch spots.
A panel of judges made up of representatives from the tourist boards and Kingsmill decided the top 25 shortlist based on a number of factors including accessibility and free entry to all. People are now being invited to cast their vote on their favourite spot out of the 25 shortlisted at www.facebook.com/
One nominee described Penrose Walk saying: "Penrose Walk is a splendid coastal and undisturbed woodland walk around Loe Pool, the largest natural freshwater lake in Cornwall. Accompanied with abundant wildlife, families can stop and take in the picturesque surroundings whilst enjoying a picnic. A fantastic day out that can be enjoyed by all the family."
