A WEST Cornwall hotel had to evacuate guests this afternoon after discovering smoke coming from one of the building's flat roofs.
Three fire engines were called to attend the Carbis Bay Hotel, at Carbis Bay near St Ives at around 3.30pm this afternoon, with everyone in the hotel having to evacuate the premises while fire officers went to work.
Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service reported a fire within a flat roof had to be "estinguished using a jet", and thermal image cameras were employed to check the surrounding areas.
The hotel's manager, said: "We could see smoke and called the fire service.
"As we have over 100 guests they sent as many [trucks] as they could - they got it before it went anywhere."
Nobody was injured in the incident.
