With the sun beginning to make a more regular appearance in the Cornish skies timing couldn't be better for the beautiful Boconnoc Estate to open its gates to families, all in support of Children's Hospice South West.
The ever popular annual 'Open Gardens and Fun Dog Show' will be taking place on May 19 with all proceeds going to vital children's charity.
Mary Murfin, local community fundraiser for Children's Hospice South West's, Little Harbour children's hospice, said: "We are thrilled that Boconnoc is kindly allowing us to use their gardens and grounds for this event again this year.
"It is the perfect setting for a lovely family day out and the ideal place to enjoy an afternoon walk and get away from it all."
"On the other hand we have all the excitement and fun of 'Mutts Mayhem' which with classes such as 'delightful diva', 'bad hair day' and 'waggiest tail' looks set to live up to its name!"
The day will also bring a selection of stalls and refreshments to enjoy while taking in the glorious surroundings and dapper dogs.
Little Harbour children's hospice help families with children who are not expected to reach adulthood.
The families are offered a range of respite, palliative, emergency and end of life care and are also supported throughout bereavement and beyond.
By providing a lifeline of care and support for the whole family, mums and dads, brothers and sisters, and the life-limited child are able to make the most of the precious time they have together.
The fundraising day at Boconnoc Open Gardens and Fun Dog Show, at Boconnoc Estate, Lostwithiel, gets underway at 12 noon on May 19. The dog show begins at 1pm.
Admission is £4.50 for adults with children entering by donation. The fun dog show is £1 per dog per class to take part with all funds going to this great cause.
Boconnoc House will also be open by separate admission - £4 - in aid of the House Restoration Fund.
