A family from Dobwalls were evacuated from their home yesterday morning after a car ploughed into the front of their house, causing damage to the mains gas box.
Four people were in the house, at Wherry Way, when a red Honda Jazz collided with the building at around 9.30am.
Following the incident, the occupants of the building were treated for minor injuries.
A representative from Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service said: "On arrival the crew confirmed no persons were trapped inside the vehicle and used small tools to make both the vehicle and the gas box safe."
Police said the building suffered significant damage but is not believed to be at risk of collapse.
A representative from Devon and Cornwall Police said: "The front of the house was twisted because the front door wouldn't open."
