Penryn welcomed in spring yesterday as he it held its annual May Day festival.
This year it was a slightly smaller event, confined to dancing around the maypole in the Memorial Gardens and a fancy dress competition.
Dance Confidence Cornwall provided the dancers and many people came to enjoy the event.
Glasney Greenspace Regeneration Project (GGSRP) stepped in to help the committee ensure something went ahead this year.
It follows the death of committee chairman Wendy Glanville Hall and work commitments of others which meant there were fears it would have to be cancelled.
