The month of April ended in great pride for one local Polruan woman when she was awarded a British Empire Medal for her services to the community.
Lynn Bartlett has played a big role across a number of areas within Polruan and beyond for the past 21-years, often putting the needs of others and the wider community well before her own.
Her devotion to local matters and causes was something which was recognised when she received her BEM medal from Colonel Bolitho at County Hall, Truro on April 30.
For Mrs Bartlett, it's a day that she'll remember for a long time to come.
"The day was very special and a lovely occasion," she said, "I felt very honoured to be there and to receive my medal from Colonel Bolitho on behalf of this community.
"My award was mostly for my work over the years with the Polruan Regatta and Children's Sports organisation, chairing the committee for the Diamond Jubillee celebrations and also for my voluntary work with the Children's Hospice South West over the past 21 years."
