Falmouth man Zak Stanley had a lucky escape when a large branch fell on his car this morning, narrowly missing his windscreen.
He was on his way to work in Truro at 5.15am when a six foot branch struck his vehicle on the A39 at Stickenbridge.
He said: "I am not sure what happened really, one minute the road was clear, the next I had a tree on my car, leaves completely covering my windscreen which luckily escaped unharmed, as did I thankfully.
"A metre long piece pierced my bumper and wing and another went through my bonnet. It also took out my wing mirror."
After checking his car, he removed the biggest branch from the road and the police attended the scene.
