IT has been confirmed this morning that Newquay manager Glynn Hooper, and his assistant Phil Lafferty, have left the SWPL Premier Division club after two years at Mount Wise.
Hooper admitted he had become increasingly frustrated at the club in recent weeks after struggling to put out a team.
In his final game in charge, at Witheridge on Saturday, Hooper was forced to play first choice goalkeeper Tom Blackler outfield. The Peppermints lost the game 4-1 and at the weekend it is believed that Hooper informed chairman Pete Butterly of his decision to stand down, along with his assistant Lafferty.
The pair joined Newquay two years ago after leaving St Blazey. In their first season they guided the Peppermints to the Division One West title.
This season they have established the club in the top flight, guiding them to a 12th place finish.
There have been reports linking Hooper with a move to Truro City, if Lee Hodges was to leave Treyew Road this summer.
However, it seems almost certain that the former City striker will take a complete break from senior football to concentrate on his duties at Truro School.
