A former Truro City goalkeeper who killed two children while driving drunk has signed for Plymouth Argyle.
The signing marks a return to Plymouth for Luke McCormick who was jailed in October 2008 after he admitted causing the deaths of Arron Peak, 10, and Ben Peak, 8, on the M6 in Staffordshire having been drunk behind the wheel.
According to Plymouth Argyle, McCormick will "donate a significant sum of money and give his time" to a local children's charity.
The goalkeeper caused a storm of controverysy when he signed for Truro City last November having served his jail term.
Argyle chairman James Brent said: "Although Luke made a dreadful mistake with unthinkable consequences, he has served his time and is totally remorseful.
"While I respect others who have alternative views, from a moral standpoint, the Board and I think Luke is entitled to rehabilitation.
"John Sheridan wanted to sign him and the club is totally supportive of that."
McCormick left Truro City in February to sign for Oxford United.
The goalkeeper was twice the limit when the crash happened as he was returning from former team-mate David Norris's wedding in Bolton.
