The death of an elderly couple from St Austell is not being treated as suspicious, police have confirmed.
Firefighters, ambulance crews and police officers were scrambled to Eastbourne Road at around 9.30am this morning.
Throughout the day Scenes of Crime officers have been scouring the bungalow where the couple were found.
A member of the public raised the alarm to the emergency services.
A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson said they were not treating the deaths as suspicious.
Initially it was thought that carbon monoxide could have been the cause of the deaths but fire investigators have ruled this out.
The man and the woman were both in the eighties.
She added the force is now investigating on behalf of the coroner.
Earlier Daniel Massey, acting detective inspector, said: "At this time we ask that the family's privacy is respected."
