A former mayor of Truro was mystified by the discovery of a large snake skin in his back yard.
Rob Nolan was sweeping the back yard of his Truro home when he came across the section of shed skin.
Mr Nolan, who was re-elected to Cornwall Council last week, said: "I was out sweeping the yard and there it was.
"Somebody's pet has escaped or something. I guess the snake is now under the floorboards or in a cupboard."
