DEBRIS found this afternoon on Sennen Cove "looks likely" to be from the yacht belonging to a 65-year-old woman who disappeared after leaving Mousehole on Saturday.
The debris was recovered by search and rescue teams earlier today washed up on the beach and in the water in Sennen Cove near to Cowloe Rocks.
A spokesman for Falmouth coastguard admitted it was likely it belonged to Seagair, a 31ft yacht skippered by Ona Unwin from Bideford.
He said: "Debris was found belonging to a boat that is similar to the one missing, we can't confirm it's the missing yacht, and have nothing to definitely identify it. It does look likely it's from the yacht. The woman is still missing at this time."
A major search involving volunteer crews between Mousehole and Bideford, launched earlier today to try and find a trace of the yacht, is being stood down.
Ms Unwin was last seen leaving Mousehole at 6.30pm on Saturday evening.
