A PREMIER League Snooker match due to take place in Penzance has been cancelled after one of its key players was suspended.
The PartyPoker.com fixture was due to take place at the Penzance Leisure Centre on Thursday October, 18.
Masters champion Neil Robertson was due to face Australian Goldfields Open winner Stuart Bingham, with World Open victor Mark Allen playing PTC Grand Final winner Stephen Lee.
But Stephen Lee was recently suspended by the WPBSA pending an investigation into match-fixing allegations and with just one match to be played, the organisers said they felt this did not represent sufficient value for money for the people of Penzance as well as the viewers watching on Sky Sports at home.
The match between Bingham nad Robertson will now be rescheduled for the Guildford Spectrum on Thursday, October 25.
All ticket holders for the Penzance fixture can now seek full refunds from their point of purchase and Matchroom Sport said they would endeavour to make sure that the Premier League returned to Penzance in 2013.
