Wild and wintry weather hit the South West with a vengeance last night.
Winds of up to 69mph were recorded at RNAS Culdrose and Princetown on Dartmoor saw snow blizzards.
The unseasonal weather brought trees crashing down with road closures near Truro and power cuts in the St Keverne area on the Lizard.
Police said a large tree blocked the road leading to the Forge estate in Carnon Downs near Truro at about 7.50pm last night. A fallen tree also blocked the road at Chapel Hill in Truro shortly before 7pm. Both trees were cleared by Cornwall Council's highways department last night.
