A Marazion woman turned 105 on the same day that the Queen came to visit the town.
Winnie Sevier's family joked that Her Majesty could have hand delivered the telegram sent out for reaching the milestone.
Mrs Sevier, who was born in St Ives and moved to Pendeen when her father Captain Cann was made managing director of Geevor mine, celebrated with family and friends on Friday.
Her daughter Rikki said: "Her father Frederick Cann was sent by the British Government to close Geevor mine or make it work and he made it work.
"My father came as a mining student from Imperial College and he met my mother. They were both very good tennis players."
The student was William Sevier, a newly qualified metallurgist and in 1932, the couple were married.
They had two children Rikki and Peter and the family travelled the world, living in the South American jungle, India and Nigeria, eventually returning to Marazion in 1965.
Mrs Sevier's son, who lives in America, made the journey to see his mother for her 105th birthday.
The weekend turned into a triple celebration with Mrs Sevier turning 105 on Friday, Rikki turning 76 on Saturday and today is Peter's 80th birthday.
Rikki said that her mother, who was a great gardener, still managed to get outside on sunny days.
She said: "She is fantastic."
Mrs Sevier has four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
