UPDATE @ 8.10pm: The road is still closed. Police have described the motorcyclist's injuries as "life changing".
UPDATE @ 5.30pm: A 20-year old motorcyclist from St Austell has been airlifted to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth with serious injuries following the crash this afternoon at 2.50pm.
He was riding a brown and silver coloured Suzuki GS XR 600.
The driver and a passenger of a black Ford Focus, registered to Leicester, were taken to the Royal Cornwall Hospital Treliske in Truro in a land ambulance.
A police helicopter also attended the incident to take aerial photographs of the scene.
The road is still closed.
A MOTORCYCLIST has been airlifted to hospital following a serious road traffic collision near Truro.
The A390 is currently closed both ways following an accident involving a motorcycle and car between Trewithen roundabout in Probus and B3275 Tresillian.
Police are reporting very slow traffic through Probus and are advising motorists to seek an alternative route through Probus centre.
The motorcyclist was airlifted to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth.
