OLYMPIC gymnastics superstar Beth Tweddle met youngsters at Newquay Sports Centre this morning.
She was in the county to promote a new programme called Gym Stars, which aims to encourage children between 2 and 8 to take up the sport.
Beth wowed the nation at the London 2012 Games when she bagged a bronze medal in the uneven bars event.
She is also scheduled to visit Polkyth Leisure Centre in St Austell and Launceston's Phoenix Leisure Centre later today. All three centres are run by Tempus Leisure, formerly Carrick Leisure, which has linked up with Gym Stars.
Children in Newquay got the chance to meet Beth, hold her medal, and watch her perform a dazzling floor routine.
Neil Richardson, of Gym Stars, said: "We believe that every child should have the opportunity to try gymnastics, so providing a programme that allows children of all abilities to try gymnastics is a great way to increase participation and enables Beth to leave a lasting legacy within her sport."
