Cornish Pirates to take on Saracens in unique City friendly

The Cornish Pirates will play a unique pre-season fixture away to Saracens on Thursday August 22 (ko 6.15pm). This game will be played at the Honourable Artillery Company in the heart of the City of London, which makes it extra special. Josh Lewsey, Cornish Pirates CEO and Performance Director, has said: "Everyone involved with the Cornish Pirates is very excited about playing one of Europe's top clubs as we look to build towards a new future, particularly at such a symbolic and historic location. "Saracens are leading the way in terms of innovative approach, off field ambition and the advocation of rugby's values. "Consequently we have affinity towards their community focused progression and hope to contribute to a fantastic occasion ahead of what we hope will be a successful season." Nigel Wray, Chairman of Saracens, said: "Our matches at the HAC have become calendar events in the City, and we look forward to another fantastic occasion offering great rugby and a great atmosphere in a unique venue. "Cornish Pirates are an ambitious club and the match will start what should be an exciting season for both teams."
