A woman was taken to hospital after a collision on the A30 at Chiverton Cross last night.
The silver Peugeot she was driving ended up in a field 30m from the road, on its side, after going through the crash barriers.
Fire crews from Redruth and Camborne were called to the scene where they found the woman, who is believed to be local, trapped inside the car.
Firefighters used crash rescue equipment to release her and she was taken to Royal Cornwall Hospital Treliske by paramedics.
A spokesman for Devon and Cornwall Police said her injuries were not believed to be life changing or life threatening.
He added that it was unclear at the moment why the accident had happened.
