A TRURO pensioner was at home when she was burgled in the middle of the day.
Police said a woman in her seventies was at home in Dobbs Lane when a mobile phone was taken from her kitchen on May 23.
The resident came downstairs and found the thief leaving her property.
The suspect is a man about 5ft 10ins tall wearing a beige or brown jacket and possibly with mousey hair.
An attempted burglary was also reported at a nearby property in Hayne Corfe Crescent on May 20.
Police said attempts had been made to get into a house through a door at the back of the house.
Inspector Mark Richards from Truro police said: "We are keeping an open mind regarding a connection between these two incidents. To have two offences like that in the same area in the same week causes some concern."
Anybody with any information is asked to contact the police on 101.
