2pm: The road was reopened at 9.45 this morning.
The seriousness of the driver's injuries are not known at this time.
EARLIER: A Royal Mail van has been involved in a collision with another vehicle on the A38 at Tideford.
The crash, which happened at 8.40am near to the Riverside Garage, initially caused both lanes of the road to be closed but the eastbound lane has since reopened.
A spokeswoman for the police said the ambulance had been called to the scene.
It is unclear at the moment whether the other vehicle is a car or a lorry.
