Stabilising works are due to begin on Hannafore Road in West Looe on Monday.
In December more than 200 residents in the area were shut off after heavy rain caused part of cliff edge to fall and block the road.
Cornwall Councillor for Looe West, Lansallos and Lanteglos Edwina Hannaford welcomed the news.
"I am delighted that work is finally commencing on stabilising this part of Hannafore Road," she said.
"This has been a very stressful time for both residents and businesses in Hannafore.
"The pile of earth caused by the landslip has not only been unsightly, but has also raised safety worries which we can now put to bed."
The works, which are expected to take between three to four weeks, will involve supporting the underside of the existing dry stone wall at the top of the slope and using meshing and bolts to secure the cliff above the road.
Cornwall Council said traffic lights will be installed while the works are carried out and contractors will be working seven days a week to enable the scheme to be completed as quickly as possible.
Meanwhile repair works are continuing in the St Martins area of East Looe following a landslide in March, which resulted in the death of 68-year-old Susan Norman.
The first phase of the works in East Looe began on Monday May 20 and should be completed by the start of the summer holidays in July.
