The new leader of Cornwall Council has launched a blog.
John Pollard, Independent councillor for Hayle North, said his first week has been "interesting and very exciting".
The new leader also showed a fondness for exclamation marks with three in a row at one point.
The blog, which is published on the Cornwall Council website, is a first for a leader of the authority, which was created in 2009.
Mr Pollard said he would blog "as and when there is something to say" and will encourage other cabinet members to get involved.
He said: "I really hope that this blog will at least give everyone some insight into what I am doing."

30 May 2013 - Well what a week!
We have all been very busy since my election as Leader and the announcement of the Cabinet a week ago and I must say that it has been interesting and very exciting – cabinet responsibilities agreed, cabinet members assimilating lots of information very quickly and everyone getting to grips with their diaries! We have had a very good informal briefing as a group and these will continue in the coming weeks.
May I thank everyone in the organisation who has worked so hard to support the new team in such a positive way. I am also aware that on the political side the Group Leaders have been very active in creating the committees. We are determined to use all the talent of the Council to maximum effect and trust that everyone will find a role that they can enjoy.
So welcome to my blog!!! Those of you who know me will be a little surprised that I am embracing such technology but we will always try to communicate in the best way so that information is shared and understanding improved. The blog will also be sent via twitter to enable feedback. I will blog as and when there is something to say and will also encourage portfolio holders to contribute ideas and issues so that the Leaders blog is as informative as possible.
So back to meetings, meetings, meetings! I am going to be meeting with members in their own areas to discuss their hopes and aspirations for the Council as well as trying to learn about local issues and look forward to meeting staff in our various offices outside County Hall.
May I also thank all those who have sent me their good wishes. I will not keep saying we need to work together if we are going to chart a productive course for Cornwall in what will be challenging times – but we do and I really hope that this blog will at least give everyone some insight into what I am doing.
