A chapel in Chacewater has hosted its first wedding in its 150 year history.
Tom and Lowenna Blee tied the knot at Wheal Busy Chapel, which was built in 1863 by miners and run by the Methodists until the late 1960s.
Since 1974 it has been run as a Free Gospel Church.
The church leader is Maureen Goodchild, who said: "I don't really know why it's taken 150 years to stage the first wedding here.
"My mother was born 100 yards away but she was married in Truro.
"Tom and Lowenna bought a house in Wheal Busy, and they wandered in to the chapel one evening and said they wanted to marry here.
"I told them no-one had ever married here before, in fact we didn't even have a licence."
The chapel got a licence and Tom and Lowenna became Mr and Mrs Blee at what was a unique service.
The chapel is a grade two listed building and is used for worship every Sunday and Thursday.
Mrs Blee said: "We live about 200 yards from Wheal Busy Chapel.
"We chose it primarily because everyone has been so welcoming to us.
"My nan also used to attend the attached Sunday School as a child.
"We both loved every minute of the day and really appreciate all of the efforts the congregation members went to, to make it so special."
