People all across Cornwall have reported hearing a "low rumbling noise" last night and are baffled as to what caused it.
It was heard by people from St Austell , Truro, Devoran, Falmouth and Constantine between 8.00pm and 9.00pm.
Police confirmed they had received no calls about the noise and the Met Office was unavailable to comment.
One person said: "It sounded a bit like an earthquake without the ground tremors. Then it was a very rhythmic low rumbling."
It is speculated the noise may have come from a naval training exercise or near-by quarry blast.
Did you hear the loud noise last night? What do you think it could be?
