Some Penryn residents were left without water yesterday after a water pipe burst.
South West Water said the pipe running alongside the A39 Treluswell to Treliever roundabouts, burst shortly before it was due to be replaced, cutting off supplies to properties in the area.
A spokesman said: "The 18 inch diameter main which runs close to the A39 was repaired within three hours and normal supply was restored by mid-evening.
"A new main has already been laid and connected to properties.
"This is due to be switched on to replace the old main within the next few days.
"We would like to apologise to any residents who suffered inconvenience due to this burst."
