A Goldsithney couple who won nearly £400,000 on the lottery have said the prize will pay to complete their Cornish dream. Paul and Jenny Marsh realised they had scooped £389,921 on The National Lottery at midnight on May 26, a few hours after the draw and just an hour after the Camelot phone line had closed. The couple then faced an agonising wait to have their win confirmed but now that it has been they are already on the hunt for the perfect home in west Cornwall. Mr Marsh said: "We could not confirm it until the following morning so we did not sleep that much that night." Mrs Marsh, who is from Gibraltar, did phone her sister, Suzanne, who lives in America to tell her, and luckily because of the time difference she was up. The down-to-earth couple celebrated their win with a quiet meal in St Ives. The Marshes, who posed for photos and gave interviews at a press conference at the Mount Haven Hotel, Marazion today, sold their house in Hampshire and gave up their jobs just under a year ago to move to Goldsithney, where they have been renting. But after matching five numbers plus the bonus ball in the Lotto draw the couple, who have been married for nine years, can now look forward to buying their perfect seaside home. Mr Marsh, 59, originally from Sheffield, said they were planning on being sensible with the money and although a new car is on the shopping list, they have not made any plans to have a big holiday – preferring instead to go head with a break in Cornwall they had previously booked for next month. He spent 14 years working in corporate finance and will be banking on his financial background to ensure the they stay grounded and don't over indulge. He added: "While we want to buy a few things that wouldn't have been possible without the win, we'll make sure that we're sensible with the money and put the rest in savings or investments." The couple won on a lucky dip which they bought at the Premier Convenience Store on a garage forecourt in Rosudgeon, near Penzance but are not regular lottery players. Mr Marsh, who now works as a care assistant, said: "We don't play religiously, only buying tickets now and again. But when we do get that lucky feeling we always buy one for Lotto, EuroMillions and Thunderball." And he added that they would continue to play "when they remembered". The pair's winning numbers were 5, 26, 30, 33, 40 and bonus ball 43.
