FIRE FIGHTERS were called on to tackle an electrical fire at St Ives Leisure Centre yesterday evening.
It is understood the fire began accidentally and involved an electric motor.
Two fire crews from St Ives attended the scene at around 7.50pm, using hose reels and specialist breathing equipment to tackle the flames. They also used a thermal imaging camera to check the building.
Engineers are expected to carry out further checks today and leisure centre bosses have confirmed it will remain open to the public as normal.
