Having attracted former Premier League player Wayne Quinn to become their new manager, Mousehole have completed yet another coup this week following the signing of former Penzance midfielder Mark Vercesi. Former Newcastle United and Sheffield United star Quinn, who replaced Darren Woodard at the end of last season, has big plans for the Seagulls, having already brought former Hayle team-mate Matt Shiels to the club as assistant manager. And this could be just the beginning of what promises to be an interesting few months ahead for the Trungle Parc club. Speaking to Cornishman Sport this week, Quinn revealed his delight at Vercesi's decision to turn down a number of other offers to join Mousehole from Newquay. He said: "Mark Vercesi is a hell of a signing for us. I know him well from our time at Falmouth and we have a mutual respect. "He's a good player, great at what he does as a skipper and scores a few goals too. He will be a great addition for Mousehole Football Club. "Lots of Premier Division clubs wanted him, but he wanted to come here and play for me and his local team." Full story in this week's Cornishman.
