A protest in Wadebridge calling for Collin Brewer's resignation today has had strong support.
More than 50 people came out to march through the town just after 11am, with many carrying banners and flags denouncing the Cornwall Council member.
The event was organised by James Ball, from Camborne, in opposition to Mr Brewer's comments saying disabled children "should be put down".
Mr Brewer, who initially stood down from his position was re-elected last month, which has sparked upset across the county.
Earlier today protesters gathered at Goldsworthy Way and made their way to the council offices.
According to Mr Ball, who led the march, onlookers showed their support, while others joined in after learning its cause.
"As we walked through the town so many cars were beeping there horns and putting their thumbs up to us - that was a great feeling," he said.
"We picked up people on the way".
Now, Mr Ball is hoping that council investigations into Mr Brewers comments are completed.
Mr Ball said: "I just wish Cornwall Council would hurry their investigations now, as on the first page of the code of conduct is says respect people and Collin Brewer has not done that."
The march organiser said that he has more protests plans, and added that "we will not stop until Collin is gone - the people of Cornwall will only take his resignation as an apology."
