A second car fire in Penzance this week was initially being treated as suspicious this morning.
Penzance Fire Station got a call out at approximately 1am today to a car that was alight on Penalverne Avenue, close to the town's hospital.
Firefighters had suspected the cause of the blaze to be arson.
A fire station spokesman said: "It is the second car fire this week.
"It looks suspicious - it could just be the fact that there are two [care fires] in a row but there could be a pattern."
The crew managed to extinguish the flames within an hour, and left the scene just before 2am.
Police confirmed arson was not being ruled out as a cause.
Three days ago a car fire, which had spread to a nearby fence, occured at Trevean Gardens, close to Penalverne Avenue.
The incident took place at 3.30am on Friday and was said to be caused by an electrical fault by police.
