Truro cycling star Chris Opie was part of the Team UK Youth crowned Tour Series champions in Ipswich on Friday night.
A week after claiming his first ever individual Tour Series victory, at the expense of Olympic champion Ed Clancy, the 25-year-old joined in on the celebrations as UK Youth clinched the 2013 Pearl Izumi Tour Series title.
Described as 'one of the most dominating team performances in the history of the Tour Series', Opie, who grew up in Kea, once again played his part in Team UK Youth's success.
The team is owned by Formula 1 legend Nigel Mansell, who joined in on the champagne celebrations on the winners' podium.
He said: "Everybody who is in this game knows how tough it is and we have been on the road a long time.
"Teams like Rapha Condor and Raleigh; and people like Ed Clancy who is an Olympic gold medallist and Kristian House; and Tom Scully – what a ride he rode tonight – there is just an enormous amount of talent and great teams out there so to be able to win the series is just a tremendous success for the team and the boys."
