Competitors wearing wacky bathing costumes and headgear are gearing up for the annual World Bellyboarding Championships.
Billed as a celebration of Britain's eccentricity, played out on the shores of Chapel Porth in St Agnes, the competition is a favourite amongst people using nothing but old-fashioned ply-wood boards, first introduced into Britain in the 1930s.
Taking place on September 8 the event, organised by the National Trust, attracts people from across the globe who are also banned from wearing wet suits.
