ADAM Carter is confident he can make the step up to Southern League football after leaving Bodmin Town to join Tiverton Town. Carter became the second player to leave the South West Peninsula League premier division champions to join former Liskeard, Launceston and Bodmin boss John Clarkson. Clarkson has also signed ex Truro City players Marcus Martin, Paul Hider, Bobby Hopkinson and Adam Kelly. And Carter, who scored 42 league goals last season, is now looking forward to a fresh challenge after two successful seasons at Priory Park. He said: "At Bodmin we were the top side in the Peninsula League and we played a lot of FA Vase and FA Cup games against teams from the leagues above. "We have beaten some of them and competed really well, so I feel I can compete at Tiverton Town's level comfortably." It was following a conversation with Krac that Carter decided to take up the offer to join the Yellows. He said: "Shane did speak to John (Clarkson) about me, and I just said that I would be interested. "I had two good years at Bodmin and I really enjoyed it but I felt that, if given an opportunity to play a higher level of football, then I had to give it a go."
