Police are investigating after a £11,000 inboard engine was stolen from a boatyard in Looe.
Officers say the offenders smashed down a fence to get into Portlooe Boatyard sometime between 9pm on Tuesday June 18 and 7am the next day.
They took a Yanmar 3JHS5-E inboard diesel engine, serial number E11714, from a boat in the yard. The new engine had been installed but never commissioned.
During the theft the engine was scraped leaving paint at the scene and police say it may also have been dropped.
If anyone who has been offered the engine for sale or has information which could assist the investigation is asked to contact the police on 101, quoting crime reference BE/13/311.
