PENZANCE is gearing up for the start of Mazey Day.
Stallholders and traders have been setting up along the main routes the day's parades will take since before 8am.
And organisers are predicting a bumper day as overcast skies keep people off the beaches but warm temperatures force them outdoors in search of fun.
Stalls ranging from Amnest International to the St Ives Brewery Company will line the route of the Crowst parade which will take place at 11am.
Rifleman Richard Barber, from Hayle, is running a stall raising money for the veterans' organisation Care for Casualties helping former soldiers of The Rifles - which includes the Duke of Cornwall's Light Infantry.
He said: "We come every year and try to raise some money and this is a really important charity."
Devon and Cornwall Police and South West Ambulance Service were also out early around the town making sure the day went without a hitch.
The ambulance service has even drafted in two speedy responders on mountain bikes to make sure they can get to anyone in a hurry despite manys streets being closed off.
Cycle Response Officer James Wright said: "We've got oxygen and everything else on the bikes that an ambulance has - everything an ambulance has got except the stretcher!"
