PENZANCE was transformed into with a whirlwind of colour and smiles as the Crowst Parade weaved its way noisily through the town.
If Mazey Day is traditionally the centre piece to Golowan Week then the Crowst Parade - or the Children's Parade as it is often known - is the mainstay of Mazey Day.
Schools, youth groups and music and dancing groups created a carnival atmosphere in a packed town centre.
They also produced a few surprises - not least Humphry Davy School's monstrous caterpillar.
The 20 foot long beast with huge eyes and colourful carapace weaved through the town saying hello to the young children that lined the streets.
