FIRE FIGHTERS from Camborne, Penzance and Bodmin have collected over one hundred tents abandoned at Glastonbury festival last weekend.
The crew of six, including Ashan Ishmael, Jamie Hollow, Mike Glanville, Ian Neal, Dave Parker and Dan Fitzpatrick drove to Somerset last night and have spent all day today collecting tents as well as other camping furniture including chairs, mats and blow-up beds.
The team will be selling the cleaned equipment at bargain prices at Hayle Rugby Club on Saturday, July 20 from 10am in conjunction with Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service's summer fire safety campaign day.
The team would like to thank Dash van rental who donated a van for the equipment to be transported back to Cornwall.
