An angler who had suffered a suspected broken ankle in a fall at Pendennis Point, Falmouth, was rescued by coastguards yesterday lunchtime. The man, who is believed to be in his 40s, was injured as he made his way down a path to go fishing. Paramedics were first at the scene and alerted Falmouth Coastguard at about 1pm. The Falmouth cliff rescue team helped stretcher the injured man up the cliff and into a waiting ambulance. He was taken to the Royal Cornwall Hospital at Treliske, Truro, for treatment.
