Firefighters were called out to in the late hours of Saturday to deal with a wheelie bin fire at the rear of South Terrace in Camborne. The fire had spread to a garage.
"One crew of five firefighters a call to a domestic garage on fire. Crews used a thermal imaging camera, two breathing apparatus and one hose reel to extinguish the fire. It is believed that the fire was started maliciously," Cornwall Fire & Rescue Service said in a statement.
It is the second time this weekend that firefighters in the area have been called out to deal with a suspected arson fire involving a a wheelie bin.
In the early hours of Saturday there were reports of a wheelie Bin on fire in a carpark at the rear of St Pirans Court, on Jennings Street in Penzance, which was believed to have been set maliciously.
