Truro City are boosted by striker Andy Watkins' decision to turn down a transfer switch to Blue Square Bet South rivals Bath City ahead of today's FA Trophy third qualifying round tie away to Farnborough.
Watkins was on target for Truro in last week's superb confidence-boosting 3-2 home league win over relegation rivals Hornchurch at Treyew Road.
In midweek he announced his intention to stay loyal to Lee Hodges' injury-hit White Tigers.
Hodges said: "It's brilliant news that Andy is staying. Of course it's a boost because he is one of the long-term members of the team and you know he is always going to get goals."
Watkins' decision comes in the same week that fellow City ace Stewart Yetton has undergone a minor knee operation, which is set to rule the former Plymouth Argyle striker out for at least another month.
Today City travel without Yetton and with Hodges set to make a late decision on who will start in goal if regular goalkeeper Tim Sandercombe – as anticipated – misses out with a knee injury.
In the absence of Yetton last week, City skipper Jake Ash took over between the sticks as Truro got back on the winning track. Player-manager Hodges has also been known to stand in between the sticks when called upon.
What is certain is that Hodges will again don his boots again ahead of today's tie – even if he does not start.
The 39-year-old City boss was forced back into action for last Saturday's win and admitted he may have to play another part in today's tie against a Farnborough side who beat City 4-1 just 11 days ago in a league match.
Yesterday the City boss said: "We will go with who we can. Obviously it's a boost that Watto is staying, especially as it looks as though Yettsy is going to be out for between four and six weeks.
"Yettsy has had the operation and that seems to have gone fine, so we will just see how long it takes for him to get back.
"Obviously, Tim felt something wasn't right with his knee last week and Ashy took over in goal. I don't think Tim is as bad as we first thought and so, fingers crossed, he may only be out for this match. We will have to wait and see.
"I had to play last week and, to be honest, although it was my hamstring keeping me out I also trained this week so it's a bit like that at the moment – if anyone is fit, then they are going to have a part to play."
Hodges confirmed right-back Dan Green is set to complete his switch to league rivals Dorchester Town.
