Three bouncers have been charged following a fight in a busy resort on a bank holiday weekend.
In total, six people were charged with assault and public order offences following disorder in Central Square, Newquay, on Friday, May 4. The incident happened at around 8pm and resulted in ten arrests, police said.
Five people have been charged and one person cautioned. A further four people arrested were released without charge. Those charged included three Newquay doormen: Brian Williams, 43; Scott Bentley, 42; and Joseph Beaumont, 31.
Williams was charged with threatening behaviour and assault occasioning actual bodily harm, Bentley was charged with threatening behaviour and assault by beating, and Beaumont was charged with threatening behaviour and racially aggravated harassment.
In addition, Jordan Phillips, 19, from Pontyclun, near Cardiff, was charged with assault, while William Burgess, 43, also from Pontyclun, was charged with threatening behaviour. A 30-year-old man from Wales was cautioned for disorderly behaviour, police said. Those charged will appear before Bodmin Magistrates on August 21.
