Just three months after opening, 100,000 visitors have already taken a trip around Heartlands in Cornwall, surpassing expectations.
The 19-acre site at Pool, near Camborne, is a free visitor attraction and World Heritage Site celebrating the county's proud mining heritage.
Projected visitor numbers were 230,000 in the first year of business. Exhibitions are on show, as well as art and craft studios, botanical gardens, an adventure playground, cafe, water features and buildings to hire for weddings and functions. Based at the once-derelict Robinson's Shaft, £35 million was spent breathing new life into the land with a £22.3 million grant from Big Lottery Fund and other contributions.
