PLANS are moving ahead to turn Mullion's former Royal British Legion hall into a holiday let. The Victorian hall was put up for sale last year after the legion branch was officially disbanded in December 2013 through lack of membership. Although the village has a women's section, who regularly hold fundraising events, the hall was owed by the national body of the British Legion and sold off. The prospective new owner, Trevor Raybould from Basingstoke, has now sought pre-planning advice from Cornwall Council on a change of use. He wants to demolish the demolish the kitchen and toilets at the back of the building to create a garden. He said he wants to divide the hall and create bedrooms upstairs with skylights and solar panels. No formal planning application has yet been submitted. In a letter to planners, he added: "I plan to partially renovate the back part of the building so that I can live on site, but my long term plans are to renovate the whole building into a place where I can live at the back and create a holiday let accommodation at the front of the building."
