MEMBERS of Hayle Judo Kwai are celebrating the opening of their new home.
The club was joined by players and trainers from the Pirates and Olympic torch bearer Sarah Blight, who cut the ribbon and welcomed a large crowd on Saturday.
Sensei Richard Deacon thanked Sarah and all the others who worked hard for a successful day at the club's new premises at Rospeath Industrial Estate, Crowlas.
"We are particularly grateful to the Pirates who joined us and I am delighted that they are going to start joining us as club members," he said.
"The Pirates' (strength and conditioning coach) Francis Sanderson, himself a black belt, joined us for his continued workouts and realised that his team could benefit from learning some of the art and disciplines of the gentle arts. We will soon be joined by many of the Pirates for a fortnightly session. Even more people are realising the benefits we offer with a permanent home, national competition mats and a wonderful and happy helping enthusiasm."
