YOUNGSTERS from Hayle Rugby Club have been hard at work raising money for a two-day sport festival.
Hayle's under-11s want to be able to enter this season's Tiger Challenge National Rugby Competition, set to take place in April at Minehead.
The event, which brings together under-7 to under-15 teams from all over the country, will be the first time many of these youngsters have experienced an away trip with their teams.
The team is hoping to raise £1,400 – or £100 per child – as well as more cash for clothing and equipment.
Recently, the children went to The Range in Truro to do bag packing, trolley returns and meet and greet duties.
Store manager Tim Rowat said: "We here at The Range in Truro do try and support the local community when we can and hope, no matter how big or small our contribution, that we do in some way make a difference."
Anyone wanting to help sponsor the team can contact the Hayle RFC junior chairman on 07825 506857.
