A FLOOD warning has been issued by the Environment Agency for the River Hayle from Relubbus to St Erth and Hayle Causeway urging home owners to take precautionary action.
An Environment Agency spokesman has recommended moving family members, pets and valuables to a safe place; upstairs if possible, away from potential flood waters should the river burst its banks.
Lesser flood alerts have also been placed on Land's End, Helston, Crowlas, St Ives and Hayle in west Cornwall.
The Met Office has issued an amber weather warning for the whole of Cornwall.
A spokeswoman said that up to 60mm of rainfall is expected in some areas with 22.8mm recorded between midnight and 10am in Camborne and 18mm at Culdrose.
